Chonburi Profile: Schools, Districts

Chonburi Province is an important industrial province and tourism destination in Thailand. It is bounded on the north by the province of Chachoengsao, on the east by Rayong, and on the south and west by the Gulf of Thailand. The main city is only 81 kilometers from Bangkok.

The province has a land area of 4,363 kmĀ² and an estimated population of more than 1.4 million in 2015. Industrial activity and tourism are the main industries in the province. Many factories and warehouses are located here in addition to the presence of Laem Chabang, the largest seaport of the country. The famous resort city of Pattaya lies just south of the main town (mueang).
