In 2022, he ran for mayor under PDP-Laban and defeated former board member Romano Talaga of People’s Reform Party (PRP), incumbent councilor Atty. Sunshine Abceda of KANP, former vice mayor Philip Castillo of PROMDI and three independent candidates.
