Showbiz Career
In 2006, Benjamin Alves arrived in the Philippines to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. That same year, he entered the model search competition of ABS-CBN Close-Up to Fame 2 where he won P500,000 cash and a Close-Up endorsement as the chosen finalist. Although he had a famous actor as an uncle in the person of Piolo Pascual, he announced he will work on his own to make a name in the industry. At that time, he was using the screen name Vince Saldaña. In 2012, he changed it to Benjamin Alves.
His first television project was Viva’s teen show POSH which was aired on QTV in 2006. The following year, he appeared in his first movie assignment: Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo, a joint project of Star Cinema and Viva Films. At present, he is one of the talents of GMA Talent Agency.
