Ratchaburi Province Thailand

Ratchaburi Province is one of the provinces in the western region of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are Kanchanaburi (north), Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram (east), Phetchaburi (south) and Myanmar (west).

Located 100 kilometers west of Bangkok, Ratchaburi Province has a total land area of 5,196 kmĀ² and an estimated population of more than 842,000 in 2015. There are many hilltribes in the province especially the Karen, Mon, Lawa, Lao, Chinese and Khmer minorities. Topography consists of lowland in the east and mountains in the west. The Mae Klong River flows through the centre of Ratchaburi town. On the western part is the Phachi River. Rice and fish farming and fruit growing are important industries.
