Samut Sakhon Province Thailand

Samut Sakhon Province is one of the provinces in the central region of Thailand. It is also part of the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. The province is bounded on the north by Nakhon Phathom, on the east by Bangkok, on the south by the Gulf of Thailand, and on the west by Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram.

Samut Sakhon Province has a total land area of 872.3 km2 and an estimated population of more than 568,000 in 2015. The province is located at the mouth of the Tha Chin Klong River, a distributary of the Chao Phraya River, to the Gulf of Thailand. Topography is coastal flat lands. The production of sea salt is a major industry in the province.
