Loei Province Thailand

Loei Province is one of the provinces in the northeastern region (Isan) of Thailand. It is bounded on the north by Laos, on the east by the provinces of Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lamphu, on the south by Khon Kaen and Phetchabun, and on the west by Phitsanulok.

Located 550 kilometers north of Bangkok, Loei Province has a total area of 11,424.6 km2 and an estimated population of more than 634,000 in 2015. Topography consists mostly of low lying mountains and plateau. Coffee, rubber and fruits are the main products of the province. There is gold mining in the province but it is very controversial. The government is pushing for the full development of tourism as a sustainable source of livelihood for the people.
