Sing Buri Province Profile and Tourist Spots

Sing Buri Province is one of the provinces in Thailand. It is located in the Central Region and surrounded by Nakhon Sawan (north), Lopburi (east), Ang Thong (South), Suphan Buri (west) and Chainat (northwest). The province shares with Singapore the sobriquet “Lion City”. Sing comes from the Sanskrit word “Puri” which means lion and Buri from the Sanskrit word Buri which means mueang or city.

Sing Buri Province is one of the smallest provinces with a land area of only 822.5 km2 and an estimated population of more than 212,000 as of 2015. Topography is generally flat and Chao Phraya River runs through it from north to south.

Actor Ken Phupoom Pongpanu is one of the famous persons who hail from this province.
