Sheriff Abas Biography

Sheriff Abas was a Filipino government official. He served as the Chairman of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) from 2018 to 2022. Appointed at the age of 39, he is on record the youngest Chairman in the history of the COMELEC.

Aside from being the youngest chairman, he was also the first chairman from the island of Mindanao, the first Muslim, and the first COMELEC commissioner to be promoted to the position.
