Karen was 2nd Runner Up and Miss Photogenic in the Miss Resorts World 2012. That same year, she competed in the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 and landed as Top 10 finalist. She was also selected as the Face of Binibining 2012.
On January 26, 2018, Karen was crowned as the new Miss Intercontinental for 2018 by her predecessor Miss Intercontinental 2017 Veronica Salas Vallejo of Mexico. The 47th Miss Intercontinental pageant was held at the SM Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Advocacy
Karen vowed to work for the improvement of compulsory education in the rural parts of the Philippines.
