Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is one of the provinces in the southern region of Thailand. It is bounded on the north by Surat Thani, on the east by the Gulf of Thailand, on the south by Songkhla, Phatthalung and Trang, and on the west by Krabi.

Located 801 kilometers south of Bangkok, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province has a total land area of 9,942.5 km2 and an estimated population of more than 1.5 million in 2015. Topography consists wide coastal plain in the east, mountains at the center, and river valleys and hills in the west.
