Thammasat University

Thammasat University (TU) started as the University of Morals and Political Sciences when it was founded by Pridi Panomyong as an open university in 1934. Since then, it has emerged as the foremost university in Thailand in the field of social sciences. In 1952, it acquired its present name. Through the years, TU has consistently ranked among the top universities in the country. Many of its alumni has occupied top government positions including the prime minister’s office.

Currently, Thammasat University has 4 campuses: Tha Prachan (Bangkok), Rangsit in Pathum Thani, Pattaya in Chonburi, and Lampang. It offers undergraduate and graduate courses in 40 faculties, colleges and institutes. It also operates a hospital, bookstore, data processing center, and sports center.
