Pathum Thani Province Thailand

Located on the north side of Bangkok, Pathum Thani Province is one of the most urbanized provinces of Thailand. It is bounded on the north by Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, on the east by Nakhon Nayok, and on the west by Nonthaburi.

pathum Thani province has a total area of 1,525.9 km2 and an estimated population of more than 1.1 million in 2015. As part of Metropolitan Bangkok, it is highly urbanized with many residential, commercial, industrial, and educational sites.

Major Academic institutions located here are the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok University, Eastern Asia University, Pathumthani University, Rajamangala University of Technology, Rangsit University, Shinawatra University, Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, and Valaya Alongkorn – Rajahbaht University. There are also many research centers such as National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), Thai Microelectronics Center (TMEC), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), and TOT Innovation Institute.
