Carlo Paalam is a Filipino boxer and model. He competed in the men’s flyweight division at the 2021 Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan and took home the silver medal.

August 20, 2021 – Carlo Paalam officially joined the Philippine Navy as apprentice seaman.
On August 7, 2021, Carlo Paalam settled for silver after being defeated by Galal Yafai of Great Britain in the final competition of the men’s flyweight division at the Tokyo Olympics.
On August 5, 2021, Carlo Paalam beat Japanese boxer Tanaka Ryomei to advance to the finals.
On August 3, 2021, Carlo Paalam disposed of titleholder Shakhobidin Zoirov of Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals. On July 31, 2021, he defeated Mohammed Flissi of Algeria in the Round of 16. Previously, he won over Brendan Irvine of Ireland by split decision in his first Tokyo Olympics bout.

Carlo Paalam was a scavenger at a landfill in Cagayan de Oro to earn a few pesos to buy rice. His parents separated when he was 5 years old. At age 7, he won his first boxing match.
