History of Lopez

The town of Lopez was separated from Gumaca to become an independent pueblo on June 30, 1857.

Economy of Lopez

Lopez is an agricultural town where rice, coconut, corn and fish are the major products. It is the home of a large flour milling plant. It was named after Don Candido Lopez y Diaz, the governor who approved the creation of the town.
