History of Cadiz City
Founded in 1861 as a new settlement, Cadiz became a pueblo in 1878 with Antonio Cabahug as the first appointed gobernadorcillo.
On July 4, 1967, Cadiz was elevated as a city by virtue of Republic Act No. 4894 authored by Congressman Armando Gustilo.
