Urdaneta City History
Urdaneta was founded as a pueblo (town) on January 8, 1858.
Due to its strategic location along the main national highway, it developed as a trading center especially livestock. On March 21, 1998, Urdaneta became a city after the people ratified its charter Republic Act 8480 which was signed on January 10, 1998 by President Fidel Ramos.
