Nakhon Phanom Province is one of the provinces in the northeastern region (Isan) of Thailand. it is bounded on the north by Bueng Kan, on the east by Laos, on the south by Mukdahan and on the west by Sakon Nakhon.
Located 737 kilometers northeast of Bangkok, Nakhon Phanom Province has a total area of 5,512.7 km2 an estimated population of more than 713,000 in 2015. Topography consists mostly of lowlands drained by the Mekong River. In the southern part, there are some mountains. Major products are rice and fish.
