As of May 15, 2026, the Office of the Ombudsman placed him under a six-month preventive suspension without pay. This disciplinary action follows a shooting incident at the Senate on May 13, 2026, and questions regarding the “disappearance” of his mistah former Philippine National Police Chief and now Senator Dela Rosa from the Senate premises while supposedly under protective custody.
