The Supreme Court announced today, January 7, 2026, that 5,594 out of 11,425 examinees passed the 2025 Bar Examinations. This yields a passing rate of 48.98%, a significant increase from the previous year’s 37.84%.
Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez from the University of the Philippines (UP) emerged as the topnotcher, achieving an impressive score of 92.70%. Sanchez, who is also a registered electrical engineer, secured the top spot on his first attempt at the grueling digitalized exams held last September.
The list of topnotchers highlights strong performances from various law schools, with the University of Santo Tomas (UST) and UP dominating the top spots:
