On July 24, 2022, Paul Macalindong auditioned at Idol Philippines where he sang Love of my Life by South Border. All the four judges namely Gary Valenciano, Moira de la Torre, Regine Velasquez, and Chito Miranda gave their approval for him to go to the next round. However, he was eliminated during the Do or Die round.
