History of Kasibu

The town of Kasibu was created on January 9, 1956 by virtue of Executive Order No. 160 issued by President Ramon Magsaysay.

Economy of Kasibu

Kasibu is an agricultural town where rice, corn, fruits and vegetables are the major products. The most important product is citrus fruit. It is also the foremost mining town in the whole of Region 2 where gold is produced. OceanaGold Philippines Incorporated (OGPI) is operator of the mine in Barangay Didipio.
