On the surface, this can be difficult to understand, but as also written, His ways are above our own. I recently wrote about this in my own post titled “Parables and Positive Psychology,” in which I use the contemporary findings of positive psychology to try and understand this parable of Jesus. Positive psychology is the scientific study of well-being, and I think that it’s findings in character strengths and virtues are complementary to my faith background. Feel free to check out the content sometime, I think you might find it interesting. I also welcome any comments/reflections you may have as well. I hope to see you there but if not, I hope you are doing well, and God bless you!
I like how you relate Jesus’ parables with positive psychology which to me is akin to spiritual integration. I truly believe this is what the good news is all about.
Thank you for your response here Roy. In the field of positive psychology, spirituality is a character strength that falls in line with the overall virtue of transcendence. Therefore, I find a finding like this to be very complementary to what Jesus has already revealed to us through the scriptures and His life here on Earth. Thank you for raising this point, I hope you are doing well, and God bless you!
I would say Jesus was the first positive psychologist. He understood very well the people around him and what they need to be transformed into wholesome beings.
Very much so! What interests me so much is that He knew this even 2000 years ago, well before the more contemporary field of positive psychology even came into existence. Now, many of the things Jesus originally preached is being supported by scientific evidence. The fact that Jesus knew this way before researchers helped me to realize that Jesus truly is who He says He is. Thank you for your comment!
when pulled out of context, sounds like going in circles 😊
but, is beautiful, anyway 🙏💙
Amen. And so it is written 🙏
