6/4/2023 (Sunday) Today’s gospel reading: John 3:16-18
16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.
18 Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son.
6/4/2023 (Sunday) Today’s gospel reflection: John 3:16-18
God loves us so much that He created us and when we rebelled against Him through sin, He sent His only Son to save us. That is wonderful enough for us to be grateful. Yet so many people still reject or take for granted God’s love. May the love of God melt their hearts!
When man left paradise because of disobedience, God should have just forgotten Him. How can He forget? We are too precious in His own eyes so that even if a woman should forget her own baby, God can never afford to forget us (Isaiah 49:15). So He continues to pursue us. Never mind is we reject Him again and again. In His own perspective, we are worth the blood of His only begotten Son. In the words of one great writer, we are at the center of God’s vision.
That is why the next time we feel alone and lonely and that nobody cares, let us remember why we are here on earth in the first place. We are loved as to have life and we are more than precious than silver or gold. Our value is priceless for we have been bought by no less than the blood of Jesus, the One sent by the Father of creation to redeem us. Therefore let us rejoice and be glad because God loves us.
