History of Busuanga
The aboriginal people of Busuanga were the Cuyonons. Oral tradition tells the story of a certain Datu Macanas who ruled over the area prior to the coming the spaniards.
In 1950, Busuanga was created out of several towns belonging to Coron municipality. Barangay Salvacion was made the town center.
Economy of Busuanga
Farming and fishing are the main economic activities of the people in Busuanga. Several shops that cater to the needs of the population are located in the town center.
In the past few years, tourism became the fastest growing industry in Busuanga.
