Michael Rama is a Filipino politician. He is currently serving as mayor of Cebu City, the capital of Cebu Province in Central Visayas Region. Previously, he served as vice mayor.
In the 2022 election, Michael Rama ran for mayor under the ruling PDP-Laban Party and defeated incumbent councilor Margarita Osmeña, David Tumulak and three other candidates.
May 8, 2024 – The Office of the Ombudsman ordered the suspension of Mayor Michael Rama for 6 months over the alleged non-payment of salaries of several city hall employees.
