Joaquin started his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor in several TV commercials. At the age of 13, he was cast in TV series Muling Buksan Ang Puso of ABS-CBN Network. Later, he became a member of a boy band called Gimme 5 along with Nash Aguas, Grae Fernandez, Brace Arquiza and John Bermundo.
