He is currently serving as director general of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) with the rank of Secretary. Previously, he served as governor of Sultan Kudarat Province in Region 12. Running under the National Unity Party (NUP) in the May 13, 2019 election, he overwhelmingly defeated independent candidate Carlos Valdez Jr.
