Francis G. Escudero is a Filipino lawyer and politician. He is currently serving as senator of the Republic of the Philippines. Previously, he was the governor of Sorsogon Province in Bicol Region. Running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in the May 13, 2019 election, he defeated Vladimir Ramon Frivaldo of PDP-Laban and six other independent candidates. In 2016, he ran for vice president with presidential candidate Grace Poe but he was defeated by fellow Bicolano Leni Robredo.
