Some people look at the past with so much nostalgia. They consider it as glorious, much better than the present time. So they start criticizing others most especially the youth. We can hear them ask: Why are you like that? During our time we were great … blah, blah, blah.

Other people are prisoners of their past. So much of their bitterness today has roots in some unforgettable experiences in the distant past. They cannot move on. They have become fearful to even start a new love life, thinking that their unlucky past might resurface.

Yet, we often hear from many experts that real happiness is in the NOW. That is why, it is called the PRESENT which is another word for GIFT. Let’s think about this. The past is gone. No matter how many times we replay it in our mind, there is not much that we can do about it. Let’s leave yesterday behind and start living happily in the present moment.
