Janine started singing at the age of five. She joined local singing contests and later became a member of the church choir. In 2016, she joined and became a finalist in the TV5 singing competition Born to be a Star hosted by Ogie Alcasid, Mark Bautista and Yassi Pressman. Later, she signed a contract with Viva Entertainment as one of its artists. In 2018, Janine made her acting debut via TV5 television series One Song. In February of 2019, she made a performance at the Music Museum.
