The Democracy monument is a major landmark in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located on Ratchadamnoen Avenue, one of the most beautiful roads in the old part of the city.

The monument was built in the late 1930s as a testament to the democratic goals of the 1932 Siamese Revolution which brought about the change of goverment from monarchy to constitutional monarchy. It was designed by architect Maeo Aphaiyawong to somewhat resemble the Arc de Triomphe of Paris.

Throughout its history, the monument became the rallying point of activists, the latest of which was the 2014 rallies that led to the downfall of the Yingluck Shinawatra.
