43B While they were all amazed at his every deed, Jesus said to his disciples,
44 “Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.”
45 But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Theme: Growing in Faith Through God’s Wonderful Plan

People were amazed at the wonderful things Jesus was doing. His miracles revealed His divine power, and everyone was filled with wonder. But in the midst of this admiration, Jesus told His disciples something difficult to understand: He would be handed over to the hands of men.

The disciples were enjoying the glorious moments of witnessing His miracles. Yet Jesus was preparing them for a reality they were not ready to accept. He was speaking about His coming suffering and death, but they could not understand what He meant. They were afraid to ask Him about it.

Sometimes, we are like those disciples. We celebrate God’s blessings but struggle to understand His plans when difficulties come. Through the word ASK, let us reflect on how we can deepen our faith when life becomes confusing.

A – ACCEPT That You Do Not Understand Everything
Life is full of questions. Why do good people suffer? Why do our prayers seem unanswered? Why do opportunities disappear just when we need them most? The disciples had witnessed Jesus’ power, yet they could not comprehend His coming suffering.

This reminds us that faith does not require us to understand everything before we trust God.
There will be moments when God’s plans seem confusing. Instead of demanding immediate answers, we can humbly accept that our understanding is limited.

We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we can trust that God sees the bigger picture.

S – SEEK God Through Honest Questions
The disciples were afraid to ask Jesus for clarification. Perhaps they were confused, uncomfortable, or afraid of hearing something they did not want to accept.

How often do we do the same? Sometimes, we remain silent when we are struggling. We carry questions in our hearts but hesitate to bring them to God. Yet prayer is not reserved for people who have everything figured out. We can approach God with our doubts, fears, disappointments, and unanswered questions.

Asking God for understanding is not a sign of weak faith. It can be an expression of our desire to grow closer to Him. When we do not understand, let us not run away from God. Let us seek Him more deeply.

K – KEEP Trusting Even When the Answers Are Delayed
The disciples could not understand Jesus’ message at that moment. Their confusion did not mean that God’s plan had failed.

Sometimes, understanding comes only with time. What appears to be a painful interruption today may eventually become part of a lesson we deeply appreciate. A closed door may teach us patience. A disappointment may redirect our path. A season of suffering may reveal strength we never knew we possessed.

This does not mean that every painful experience is easy or that suffering should be ignored. Rather, it reminds us that God can continue working even when we cannot yet see the purpose.

Keep praying. Keep doing what is right. Keep loving. Keep moving forward with humility and courage. One day, some of the questions that trouble us may become clearer. Until then, we can place our uncertainty in God’s hands.

The disciples struggled to understand Jesus because His mission involved a path they never expected. Their experience reminds us that following God does not guarantee a life without confusion, but it invites us to trust Him through every uncertainty.

When life becomes difficult, remember ASK:
A – Accept that you do not understand everything.
S – Seek God through honest questions.
K – Keep trusting, even when the answers are delayed.

May we never allow confusion to separate us from God. Instead, may our unanswered questions lead us to deeper prayer, stronger faith, and greater confidence in His loving presence. When we cannot understand God’s plan, we can still trust God’s heart.
