1 When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
2 And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”
3 He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, “I will do it. Be made clean.” His leprosy was cleansed immediately.
4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.”

CLEAN: A Path to Healing and Restoration
This Gospel passage tells the story of a man who was considered unclean and rejected by society. Despite his condition, he approached Jesus with humility and faith. Instead of turning away, Jesus reached out with compassion and restored him. This beautiful encounter reminds us that God is always willing to heal, restore, and renew those who come to Him with trust. The word CLEAN can help us remember the lessons of this Gospel.
C – Come to Jesus with Confidence
The man did not allow fear, shame, or the opinions of others to stop him from approaching Jesus. He believed that Jesus had the power to change his life. We, too, are invited to bring our wounds, failures, worries, and burdens to the Lord. Faith begins when we take a step toward Him, trusting that He welcomes us.
L – Leave Behind Despair
Years of suffering could have made the man hopeless, yet he chose faith over discouragement. Many people today carry emotional wounds, broken relationships, or disappointments that seem impossible to overcome. The Gospel reminds us that no situation is beyond God’s reach. Hope grows when we believe that God is still working even when we cannot yet see the results.
E – Experience God’s Compassion and Extend it to others.
Jesus responded with compassion rather than judgment. He saw not only the man’s condition but also his dignity and worth. God looks at us the same way. He sees beyond our mistakes, weaknesses, and limitations. His love reaches into the deepest parts of our lives and reminds us that we are precious in His sight. Whenever we experience God’s mercy, we are called to extend that same compassion to others.
A – Accept God’s Restoration
Healing is not only about physical recovery. God desires to restore our hearts, minds, relationships, and spirit. Sometimes we hold on to guilt, resentment, or fear that keeps us from moving forward. True restoration begins when we allow God to renew us from within. His grace can rebuild what has been broken and strengthen what has become weak.
N – Notice the New Life God Gives
After being restored, the man received the opportunity to rejoin the community and begin a new chapter. God’s blessings are not meant to remain hidden. Every act of healing, forgiveness, and renewal is an invitation to live differently. When God transforms us, we become witnesses of His goodness through our words and actions.
The message of CLEAN is simple: Come to Jesus, Leave despair behind, Experience His compassion, Accept His restoration, and Notice the new life He gives. No matter what burdens you carry today, remember that God specializes in making lives whole again. His touch still heals, His love still restores, and His grace still makes all things new.
