The town of Burgos was named after the priest-martyr Father Jose Burgos who was a native of the Ilocos Region.

Burgos is an agricultural town where rice, corn and vegetables are the major products. It is famous for its multi-colored soft brooms made from tiger grass locally known as Buybuy.
