History of Batad
Batad had a population of 2,133 as early as 1903 and increased to 7,712 in 1960. The census of 2015 showed that the town had a total number of residents of 21,298.
Economy of Batad
Batad is an agricultural town where rice, corn and fish are the main products. At the town center called Poblacion, commercial activities such as trading and services are found. Manufacturing is limited to small scale production of handicrafts and processed food, repair of furniture and machineries as well as tailoring and hollow block making.
