Lorraine Badoy is a Filipino physician and former government official. She served as undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) during the Duterte Adminstration. She was also a member of the National Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

On February 29, 2024, Lorraine Badoy was found guilty of indirect contempt of court by the Supreme Court of the Philippines in a 51-page judgment penned by Associate Justice Marvic Leonen. She was fined PHP 30,000 for online red-tagging and outright threats against Manila RTC, Branch 19 Judge Judge Marlo A. Magdoza-Malagar calling him an “idiot judge” who lawyered for the CPP-NPA (A.M. In the later part of 2023, Badoy was detained by the House of Representatives for contempt in connection with her conflicting statements on the advertising revenues of their SMNI program “Laban Kasama ng Bayan.” She was released after she wrote a letter of apology. (Read more..)

Badoy was in the news previously due to her statements that some members of congress are high ranking officials of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its New People’s Army (NPA). This prompted the concerned members of congress to call for her resignation. (Read more…)
