“Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”

Reflection

Our faith proclaims that God is the creator of the universe. He is therefore the source of all things on earth or in the heavens. The minerals beneath the earth, the bountiful farms, forests and seas are all gifts from the Lord. Our abilities, skills and talents all come from Him.

No one can claim that he owns something apart from God. No one can boast that he has acquired material wealth all by himself. Only the fool do that.

God is almighty and generous. He knows our needs and motives. He grants the wisdom to all who ask for it. He gives the necessary skills for His children to become His co-creators for wealth. It is therefore imperative for all of us to share whatever we have because the truth is we own nothing.
