Jose Ong Jr. is a Filipino politician. He is currently serving as the congressman of the second legislative district of Northern Samar Province Province in the Eastern Visayas Region. The second district is composed of the municipalities of Catubig, Gamay, Laoang, Lapinig, Las Navas, Mapanas, Palapag, Pambujan, San Roque, and Silvino Lobos.

Running under the ruling PDP-Laban Party in the May 13, 2019 election, he defeated independent candidate Reyzandro Unay.

Controversy
Jose Ong Jr. was accused of being an alien in the Philippines but the Supreme Court, in its decision on decision on July 30, 1991 (G.R. Nos. 92191-92), decided in his favor that he is a natural born Filipino.
