Joseph Cua is a Filipino politician. He is currently the governor of Catanduanes Province in the Bicol Region. Running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) Party as a reelectionist in the May 13, 2019 election, he won over incumbent Congressman Cesar Sarmiento of the PDP-Laban Party.

Scandal / Controversies
Four months before the election, he was suspended for six months by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in connection with a complaint filed by private citizen Rey Mendez regarding alleged abuse of authority. In the complaint, Mendez alleged that the governor allowed a construction company owned by the wife of Bato town Mayor Eulogio Rodriguez to stored its equipment in a government property without permission from the provincial council (Sangguniang Panlalawigan).
Joseph Cua willingly obliged with the suspension order.
