St. Louis Church was opened and consecrated in 1957 upon the initiative of Bishop Louise Chorin, the Vicar Apostolic of Bangkok at that time. The first parish priest, Fr. Michel Lanier, was said to have been well-loved by the large Chinese Catholic Community in the neighboring areas.
