Dean Michael Roxas trained under Professor Carlo Pena of Atos Jiu Jitsu and now holds the rank of purple belt. He has achieved repeated success at the SEA Games, notably winning the gold medal in the Men’s 85 kg ne-waza division in both the 2019 and 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, where he secured his most recent victory via quick submission in the final. Prior to taking up jiu-jitsu in 2014, he was involved in athletics (track & field) in high school. His 2025 SEA Games victory was particularly challenging as he competed just weeks after suffering an injury in Japan, highlighting his perseverance and commitment.
