The 72nd Miss Universe pageant was held at the National Gymnasium in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 18, 2023. During the coronation night, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States crowned Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios as her successor. The event was hosted by American television host and stylist Jeannie Camtu Mai and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and American television presenter Maria Menounos while Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and American entertainment reporter Zuri Hall served as backstage correspondents. American singer John Legend gave a performance.
The other winners were 1st runner-up Miss Thailand Anntonia Porsild and 2nd runner-up Miss Australia Moraya Wilson. Miss Philippines Michelle Dee took home the Fan Votes and Spirit of Carnival awards as well as one of three gold awards for the Voice for Change competition. Miss Congeniality went to Miss Spain Athenea Pérez.This is the list of participating countries and the name of the candidate respectively.
