History of Jose Panganiban

The town was formerly called Mambulao and it was renamed on December 1, 1934 to honor Filipino propagandist, linguist, and essayist Jose Maria Panganiban.

Although the town is home to two economic zones, the town of Jose Panganiban is still an agricultural town where rice, fish and coconut are the main products.
