“I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.”
– John 10:10
A life lived to the fullest means differently to different people but it does not necessarily mean to have or to own all the material things in the modern world such as mansions, cars, yachts, jewelries, and fat bank accounts. It does not also mean necessarily to live a pure ascetic life.
The full life being offered by Jesus means to experience joy in having new experiences with Him and sharing it with one another using whatever material thing we have no matter how little it is. It is a conscious effort to be part of His kingdom, following Him and serving Him by serving others in whatever capacity.
As the Psalmist tells us, the Lord is our shepherd and that there is nothing more that we need because He leads us to green pastures where we can play, enjoy the sunshine and have plenty to eat.
The earth was once a true green pasture. There is enough for everyone. There is a lot that we can do and experience to be happy but because of our greed and evil minds, millions of people do not have the opportunity to live a full life.
If all of us truly live the values of love, compassion, and justice, the full life as promised by the Lord can be experienced by everyone and there will be heaven on earth!
