The municipality of Laur, Nueva Ecija is headed by Mayor Alexander “Pogi” A. Daus. He first won as mayor in the 2016 elections and earned a fresh mandate in the 2019 elections.
Mayor Pogi was born on April 28, 1967 in Laur and studied at Laur Central School and St. Stephen’s Academy (Laur, Nueva Ecija). He also took a two-year course at Good Samaritan Colleges in Cabanatuan City.
The mayor is the youngest among four siblings but he is not the first elected municipal mayor in his family. His grandfather, Gabriel C. Daus Sr., was elected mayor from January 1, 1964 to December 31, 1971 and from December 13, 1979 to February 25, 1986. His uncle, Alvaro G. Daus, was also elected mayor from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2016.
Mayor Pogi is a good example of a leader who serves unselfishly for the people of Laur. He has a strong determination to improve the lives of his constituents, especially the underprivileged. You can see him around, checking every corner of barangays and streets in the morning. He ensures an effective, efficient, and equitable delivery of social services for the people of Laur.
