Romulo Davide Biography, Contribution

Romulo G. Davide is a Filipino scientist and academician. He is known as the father of Nematology for his discovery of nematode-trapping fungi P. lilacinus and P. oxalicum. This led to the creation of BIOCON, the first Philippine biological pesticide against nematode pests as a substitute to chemicals.

On August 8, 2024, Romulo Davide was proclaimed as a National Scientist of the Philippines by President Marcos for his work in nematology and plant pathology
