History of Maconacon
Due to the operation of Acme Plywood Company, many migrant workers decided to become residents of the town. This increased the population which droved many people to seek a separate municipality. On June 21, 1969, the town of Maconacon was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 5776. It was previously a territory of Cabagan Municipality.
