History of Rizal
The town of Rizal was formerly called Tarumpitao Point which was then a part of Quezon Municipality. On April 14, 1983, it became an independent municipality be virtue of Batas Pambansa Blg. 386 with the name Marcos. On April 17, 1988, it was renamed Rizal in honor of the country’s National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
