History of Gingoog

The name Gingoog is believed to have been derived from the Lumad term “Hingoog” which means “Good Luck”. It was established as a missionary outpost in 1750. On June 18, 1960, it was converted to a city by virtue of Republic Act no. 2668.

Economy, Business and Investment in Gingoog

Gingoog is an agricultural area. Majority of the people are engaged in farming and fishing. Rice and corn are the chief farm products.

At the city center, commercial, educational and financial establishments are found.
