History of Lagawe

Lagawe was founded in 1961.

Economy of Lagawe

Being the capital of Ifugao, Lagawe is the commercial and financial center of the province. Both Land Bank of the Philippines and Philippine National Bank have branches here. Still agriculture is the main source of income in the town where rice, sweet potato, coffee and vegetables are produced. Some families are engaged in the production of handicraft items and wooden furniture.
